What the Putnam County Business Council does.

We work with the Putnam County Economic Development Corporation to host the annual Consolidated Funding Applications (CFA) Workshop.

We organize “Meet and Greet the Candidates” and other events which provide a non-partisan program for the candidates to present themselves to the business community and the public in a friendly and neutral atmosphere.

We maintain a social media presence that alerts the citizens of Putnam County about scheduled and in the planning stage events that benefit the community.

We host the Annual Trailblazer Awards, which celebrate business leaders and showcase Putnam County businesses and Not For Profit organizations.

We established the Industry Cluster Task Force to target:

  • Commercial Recreation and Arts and Culture as two areas, which identify Putnam County’s unique character and available resources.

  • Community Initiative Programs to work on specific projects in each of the County’s six towns to enhance the viability of their commercial districts.

We make an effort to diligently monitor and participate in the governmental processes that affect our business community:

  • We speak up in the meetings of the County Legislature on any proposed legislation that will impact the business community.

  • We participate in the meetings of the Transportation Advisory Task Force, which provides a plan for our public transportation system.

  • We co-host a purchasing workshop to explain the procedures for our businesses to successfully bid on government contracts available at the state and municipal level.
